Roskam: Human trafficking a growing threat in suburbs

Human trafficking — both in terms of labor and sex — is becoming more prevalent in the suburbs, and legislators and law enforcement officials say they’re taking steps to fight it. Elected officials joined suburban police to learn about what more can be done to address the problem. “It (human trafficking) is happening in the suburbs,” Rep. Peter Roskam said. “It is happening in ways that should be apparent to us, but we don’t even see it.”
